SUMMARY:Film Works: The Graduate
DESCRIPTION:If you are local – join us for a social before the film. The social will be from 6pm to 7pm followed by the film The Graduate.\nHave you ever watched a great movie and found yourself talking about it hours even days later? Found yourself debating the finer points of the film with your friends – was it meant to be in there or just a pleasant accident? How did the writers create that story? Was it the writer or the director who made that decision? If this is you…then you need to attend.\nJoin us Feb 2nd 3rd from 6:30 to 9:30pm at Harkins Theatre in Tempe as we watch and discuss The Graduate. Chris LaMont (ASU Professor of screenwriting, founder of Phoenix Film Festival and screenwriter) will lead the discussion after the film and dive deeper into the making of When Harry Met Sally. If you love film and love debating the finer points of film, you will not want to miss this.\nChris LaMont is a multi-hyphenate in the film industry. He’s a Professor of Screenwriting at ASU, the Founder of the Phoenix Film Festival, and a member of the Writer’s Guild. For the last twelve years, he has been writing with fellow ASU Alum Joe Russo, and have optioned and sold five scripts with three films being produced, including the supernatural horror film, “The Last Will and Testament of Charles Abernathy”, a script bought by Netflix and will stream in October 2022.\nThis project is partially funded by a City of Tempe – Community Arts Grant.\nFollowing CDC guidance, face coverings are optional for fully vaccinated guests. Refer to official website for current guidance. .\nBy visiting the event you and your party voluntarily assume all risks related to COVID-19 exposure.\n
